Learn to Love Mentoring

Take charge of your career and life while helping others learn and grow! Savvy professionals recognize that one way they can continue to develop themselves personally and professionally is through mentoring, whether learning from a trusted mentor or broadening perspectives from a mentee. This session will provide information about mentoring as well as an opportunity for you to network with and learn from others.

If you love to learn and love to help others learn, then mentoring will further ignite that passion! Mentoring strengthens your ability to engage your workforce, build your professional network, and increase your credibility with business leaders.

At the end of this interactive session, you will be able to:

  • Define mentoring and what it means to you.
  • Explain the professional benefits of having a mentor or mentoring others.
  • Find a mentor when you need one.

Speaker

Marjorie Sutter is a learning and development consultant. After 25 years, Marjorie retired from Kimberly-Clark Corporation to start her own business. While at Kimberly-Clark, she led Technical Learning and Development with responsibility for the career development of scientists and engineers in North America and around the world. She is most proud of her accomplishments related to mentoring – the many mentoring programs established, the mentors and mentees trained, the mentoring pairs matched, and results measured.

Now, through Marjorie Sutter and Associates, LLC, she provides learning resources and consulting for businesses as well as non-profit organizations. She specializes in mentoring, strategic planning, and leadership development.

Marjorie received her BS degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. While raising a family and working full-time at Kimberly-Clark she received her MBA, also from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh where she served two terms on the MBA Alumni Advisory Board.
