Training Translation – Learn How to Be Prepared

When it comes to translation, instructional and assessment projects can be highly complex, due to their multimedia nature.  

In this talk, we will look at the translation process in general and the challenges of localization of instructional material in particular. 

We will discuss best practices and helpful tips for taking your teaching global. 

As a result of attending this session, you will: 

  • Have a good idea of how translators work
  • Know what to provide translators for a successful project
  • Be able to roughly estimate length and cost of a translation project based on examples relevant to instruction and assessment 

About Philipp Strazny   

Philipp Strazny has been a translator and localizer for over 20 years.    A native German, he received Master's degrees from Cologne University and the UW-Madison. 

After freelancing as a translator for several years, he joined The Geo Group as IT and Localization Manager. In this role, he has worked on many different and challenging localization projects and gained first-hand experience in most aspects of localization.
