People are Dying to be Heard: How to Listen to Others and Have Them Listen to You
Do you multi-task?
Are you a good listener?
If you answered yes to both questions, you are fooling yourself according to Ben Merens, host of Wisconsin Public Radio’s At Issue. After 25 years as a journalist and 20 as talk show host, Ben believes that people are dying to be heard.
“Multi-tasking is a one way street to mediocrity and stress. It allegedly is an acceptable way to read a book and watch television at the same time. You can do both but you can’t do both well. Our minds are the ultimate natural computers. But we are designed for focus, especially when it comes to listening. A little uni-tasking can go a long way.”
Ben also believes that multi-tasking is actually harmful to people, fracturing their attention and focus while simultaneously decreasing their awareness of people and events around them.
Join the members of NEW ASTD at this unique event and hear Ben’s engaging and inspiring message. You will receive Ben’s 2 audiobook CDs: Uni-tasking - 25 Tips for Better Listening and People are Dying to be Heard. These audiobooks are valued at $40
You will also be able to meet new people in training and development and expand your network of professionals who can be helpful to you.
