    Program Description

The learning showcase event is a chance for us to get together and share our successes in learning and development programming. We want to see what you’ve been working on, what successes have you achieved, what technology or tools you have implemented to support training initiatives in your environment.

This event will feature rotating presenters, each given 5-10 minutes to share a project or program success. We understand that elements or outcomes of some projects may be proprietary, but share what you can. This is a great opportunity to get recognition, insights and even receive feedback. Let’s learn from each other!

Sign-up to share a project by completing the form link now:

    Program Description

Learning cannot be separated from stories. Learners understand lessons better and quicker through stories because they relate to the core of human experience. There are many methods leveraging the use of stories, but seven models have repeatedly shown results based on research. Furthermore, these models build on each other to deliver deeper engagement, learning, and thinking capacities.

In this session, you will learn about:

    • New research findings on how stories impact behavioral change, learning, and application.
    • Differentiating weak story models from powerful and sure-fire story methods
    • Which stories to use in compliance, technical, soft skills, software, process, and knowledge types of content.
    • Leveraging “hyper-stories” to instantly engage learners.
    • Focusing on stories that enhance competencies and performance.
    • Obtain the “7 Story Model Learning Design Methods” - a reusable template

    Program Description

We all know that there are a lot of elements that go into designing e-learning content that goes beyond finding the best way to disseminate the needed information – visual appeal, voice over, brand guidelines, technology limitations, the list can go on. But are you also considering how to creating content that is accessible and inclusive? This may seems like a daunting addition to the list of design responsibilities. Cara’s presentation is a perfect primer for how to think critically when designing content. Learn more about writing content for screen readers, considering color palettes for visual limitations, using descriptive links and alt text in images, and how to write content for all abilities. Additional topical resources and checklists will be shared so you can start reviewing your own content and having these conversations with your organization.
